Solid surface vanity tops for commercial projects are rarely one-offs. A hotel has dozens of identical rooms. An office has the same washroom on every floor. Our tops are built for that: the basin is bonded in without silicone, the top is made to your drawing, and the whole series is ordered from one colour batch so room 101 matches room 412.
Integrated basin vanity tops or undermount basins
There are two ways to join a basin to a solid surface top. Both avoid a silicone line at the rim.
Undermount cast basin. A moulded A101 Glacier White basin (m281, m283, m283L, m285L or m286) is bonded under the cut-out with the manufacturer’s adhesive, leaving no gap between bowl and top. The bowl geometry is fixed and identical from unit to unit, which suits long white series. See the model dimensions on the basins page.
Integrated basin. The bowl is fabricated from the same sheet as the top, so it matches any Akrilika colour. Akrilika is 100% acrylic and thermoforms, so the bowl can have radius corners. Apietra cannot be thermoformed: it cannot be used for integrated basins with radius corners of about R70–80 mm.

Solid surface vanity tops for hotels, in series
The fact that matters most on a hotel project is written in the warranty terms: colour can vary between batches and within a batch. A series ordered floor by floor over several months can drift. We order the sheets for the whole series together, so every top comes from one batch.
Two more points for series work:
- Cast basin versus sheet. The catalogue notes that cast A101 basins may differ slightly from A101 sheet, because they are produced at different times. Approve a production basin next to an offcut from your sheet batch before the series starts.
- Veined decors. Select the slab or batch before fabrication, and expect the pattern to break at joints. Set out the cuts so that the joints fall in the same place on every unit.
On a large project, the practical sequence is: drawing, one sample unit, approval, then the series. Tell us the quantity and the delivery phases, and we confirm minimums and lead time with the quote.
Commercial vanity tops: sizes and limits
- Length: up to 3660 mm from one sheet (3680 mm for AR colours and some veined Apietra decors). Longer multi-basin tops are bonded and polished.
- Depth: the sheet is 760 mm wide. The top, front apron and upstand must fit into that width, or they are cut separately and bonded.
- Thickness: 12 mm sheet. Front edges are usually built up with bonded strips. Profiles include pencil, bullnose, splayed, shark nose and coved.
- Upstands and splashbacks: bonded to the top as a coved or square joint, so there is no silicone in the corner.
Choosing a colour for a washroom vanity unit
The catalogue does not recommend dark shades for surfaces in heavy daily use: they show wear sooner and need more care. For public washrooms and hotel rooms, light and mid tones are the practical choice. Veined AR and Apietra decors give a stone look without the pores of natural stone.
Solid surface is non-porous. The manufacturer states it does not support microbial growth when cleaned properly. Check the colour on a physical sample before specifying. Order samples in 100 × 70 mm or the larger 1220 × 380 mm format.
Warranty conditions to write into the specification
- Akrilika: limited 15-year warranty. Apietra: limited 10-year warranty.
- Fabrication must be done by a firm holding the Akrilika training certificate.
- Indoor installations in heated rooms only.
- Appearance claims are not accepted after the sheet has been cut, so approve colour and pattern before fabrication.
- Scratches, chips and cracks can be repaired without visible traces by a certified fabricator, as a paid service.
