Solid surface for hotels works best where a room type repeats: the same vanity top, the same basin, the same edge, a hundred times over. Akrilika is a 100% acrylic solid surface with the colour through its full 12 mm thickness. Parts are bonded with seamless joints, the surface is non-porous, and damage is sanded out in the room. For a hotel group, that means one approved room detail, rolled out across every floor, and still repairable after years of housekeeping.
Hotel bathroom vanity tops, built as a series
The hotel bathroom vanity top is where most hospitality projects start. A typical build is a 12 mm top with a front apron, a rear upstand and a basin bonded underneath without silicone, so there is no gap between top and bowl.
You can choose two types of basin:

Sheet is 3660 × 760 mm, so most single and double vanities come from one sheet without a joint. Longer tops for guest washrooms are joined with colour-matched adhesive.
One colour batch for every room
The manufacturer’s warranty says it directly: colour may vary between batches and within a batch. On a hotel, that turns into a visible problem when floor 2 is delivered in March and floor 7 in September.
Three rules keep a room series consistent:
- Order the full series as one call-off, even if deliveries are phased to the site programme.
- Approve a sample from the production batch, not from an old sample box.
- For veined decors, plan the layout. Select the batch or slab before fabrication and expect the pattern to break at joints. The catalogue treats that as normal, so tell your designer early.
If the hotel will need spare tops later, order them with the series and store them flat.
Hotel reception desks and restaurant bar counters
The hotel reception desk is usually the one piece with curves. Akrilika and the 2026 AR colours can be thermoformed, so radius fronts and curved ends can be made from the same material as the top, with no visible joint. Apietra costs about 20–30% less, but it cannot be bent. Use it for straight counters and back-bar tops.
For a restaurant bar counter or lobby bar, backlighting changes the room at night. Translucent shades such as A404 Translucent White transmit light, and logos can be applied by sublimation printing. Room furniture tops and public areas
The same sheet covers the rest of the room and lobby:
- desk and dressing-table tops;
- bedside and minibar tops;
- vanity tops in lobby and restaurant washrooms;
- buffet and breakfast counters.
Tops in food areas benefit from the food-contact testing done by TÜV Rheinland in 2016: migration to Regulation (EU) 10/2011, LFGB sensory testing and colour migration all passed.
Refurbishing an occupied hotel
In a live hotel, every room out of service costs money. Solid surface keeps repairs small. Scratches, chips, cracks and cigarette burns can be sanded and polished out where the top is installed, by a certified Akrilika fabricator, as a paid service. In the ANSI Z124.3 test, the material passed the cigarette-burn test.

Warranty terms that matter to operators
Akrilika carries a 15-year limited warranty, and Apietra 10 years. Both apply only to fabrication by a firm with the Akrilika training certificate, in heated indoor rooms. Normal wear, scratches and stains are not covered, which is why repairability matters more than the warranty in a hotel. Order samples of the colours on your mood board and check them under the room lighting.
