Solid surface for yachts and caravans is a series-production question: the same galley top, the same washroom basin, built identically for every unit that leaves the line. Akrilika gives boatbuilders and motorhome makers a surface with seamless joints, colour through the full thickness, and damage repaired in place. This page gives the facts that decide whether it fits your build: weight, sheet sizes, basin sizes, test data, and what we do not have.

Boatbuilders, motorhome and caravan manufacturers, and interior outfitters who build in series from their own drawings. It is not a DIY or single-van page. For series supply, see OEM and series production.
Weight per square metre
Weight is the first question in any vehicle or boat. The catalogue gives sheet weights. The figures per m² below are our calculations from those weights:

The honest limit: 6 mm exists only in A101 Glacier White. Every other colour is 12 mm. The density is 1.74 g/cm³ (ASTM D792). If you need lightweight solid surface in a colour, save weight in the design: narrower upstands, cut-outs under covers, and 6 mm white for splashbacks and wall panels.
Motorhome washbasins and compact cast basins
Cast basins are made in A101 Glacier White. The smallest in the current range suit compact washrooms (internal dimensions):

Basins are bonded under the top with special adhesive, without silicone, so there is no gap for water to track into. For corner or shaped basins in other colours, bowls can be fabricated from sheet to your drawing.
Boat galley worktops and sinks
A boat galley worktop takes hot pans and wet chopping in a tight space. Test data for Akrilika:
- Dry heat class 7A (180 °C), DIN EN 12722; wet heat class 8A (100 °C), DIN EN 12721.
- Food-contact migration to Regulation (EU) 10/2011: pass (TÜV Rheinland, 2016).
- Humid climate, 14 days at 40 °C and 85% RH: no changes. Alternating climate from −20 to +60 °C: no changes, with warp of 1.33 mm/m against a limit of 1.5 mm/m (TÜV Rheinland).
Compact fabricated sinks start from an internal size of 170 × 400 × 150 mm (mk500) and can be made in the worktop colour. Akrilika and the 2026 AR colours can be thermoformed, so radius corners and curved fiddles are possible. Apietra cannot be bent.
What we do not have
- No marine or rail approvals: no IMO MED, no EN 45545-2, no classification-society approval.
- No slip-resistance class. Do not use it for decks, cabin floors or shower floors.
- No outdoor use. The warranty excludes outdoor installation, and one tested colour failed light fastness. Keep it inside the cabin.
- No vibration or fixing data on file. Fixing details for moving vehicles should be designed and tested by your engineering team or fabricator.
