This page collects the compliance evidence for Akrilika acrylic solid surface, Apietra and AQ Stone quartz, in the form a fire engineer, infection-control lead or tender reviewer needs: what was tested, by whom, to which standard, in which report and in which year. The full property tables are on the technical data page.
We keep one rule. A test report records a result and has no expiry date. A certificate or assessment is valid for a period. Where that period has ended, we say so, and we cite the tested result with its year, not as a current certificate.

Fire: wall and ceiling cladding
ITB classified Akrilika sheet to EN 13501-1:2019 as interior wall and ceiling cladding:
| Thickness | Class |
|---|---|
| 12.3 mm | B-s1,d0 |
| 6.0 mm | C-s1,d0 |
In both classes, s1 stands for the lowest smoke production and d0 for no flaming droplets. ITB also records that the 12.3 mm sheet does not fall off in a fire.
Mounting conditions of the classification. The sheets are fixed mechanically, with steel fixings, directly to a non-combustible substrate of at least A2-s1,d0 or to plasterboard. A different build-up, such as bonding to timber or a combustible board, is outside the classification. Floors are outside the scope of the assessment.
Source and status. National technical assessment ITB-KOT-2021/1061, edition 1, issued 31 March 2021 to Akrilika Poland Sp. z o.o. Its validity ended on 31 March 2026. Quote the class with the document number and dates, and ask us about the current status before you write the clause.
Fire: the TÜV and SGS results, and how not to use them
- Bfl-s1 to EN 13501-1 (TÜV Rheinland, 2015, report series 21245130, A101 and Apietra M601, tested on 8 mm fibre-cement). This is a flooring class, obtained with the flooring methods EN ISO 9239-1 and EN ISO 11925-2. It is not a wall class, and it must not be written as B-s1,d0. The material is not a floor covering (see limits below).
- Class 1 surface spread of flame, BS 476-7 (SGS-CSTC).
- Apietra oxygen index 41.6 (manufacturer’s Apietra data sheet).
Indoor air: VOC emissions
ITB assessed the emissions of volatile organic compounds to EN ISO 16000-9 and ISO 16000-3 and -6 (ITB-KOT-2021/1061, 2021):
- The sheet is suitable for category A and B rooms under the Polish 1996 regulation (MZiOS), which cover homes, hospitals, schools and similar buildings.
- Rooms can be used immediately after installation. Emissions reach permitted concentrations within 28 days at most.
For a hotel, clinic or school this means the cladding or tops are not a reason to delay handover.
Moisture and vapour
| Property | Result | Standard / source |
|---|---|---|
| Water vapour resistance factor μ | > 50 000 | ITB report LZM02-01702/17/Z00NZM, 2018 (6.0 and 12.3 mm) |
| Equivalent air layer thickness sd | > 300 m | same report |
| Water absorption | ≤ 0.1 % | EN 520, ITB-KOT-2021/1061 |
| Water absorption, 49 days immersed | 0.27 % | ASTM D570, SGS-CSTC |
| Dimensional change with humidity, and at +70 °C | ± 0.1 % | ITB-KOT-2021/1061 |
The sheet is vapour-tight. In showers, wet rooms and washrooms, plan the wall build-up with that in mind, because the cladding acts as a vapour barrier on the room side.
Disinfectants and cleaning chemicals
| Test | Agents | Result | Lab, year |
|---|---|---|---|
| ANSI Z124.3 | Concentrated sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide 3 %, urea 6 %, ammonia 10 %, alcohol | Pass | SGS-CSTC |
| ANSI Z124.3 | Iodine, gentian violet, lipstick, shoe polish, hair dye | Pass | SGS-CSTC |
| ISO 19712-2 | Hydrogen peroxide 30 %, sodium hydroxide 25 % | 5 (no change) | TÜV Rheinland, 2015 |
| ISO 19712-2 | Acetone | 3 | TÜV Rheinland, 2015 |
| DIN EN 12720, 16 h | 21 agents, including disinfectant, wine, coffee, cola, oil, cleaning agents, petrol | Mostly 5 (no change) | TÜV Rheinland, 2016 |
| DIN EN 12720, 16 h | Acetone, ethyl-butyl acetate | 3–4 | TÜV Rheinland, 2016 |
Hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide are the active agents in many clinical disinfectants, so check your product’s data sheet against this list. Do not use acetone or solvent-based cleaners. We do not claim the material is antibacterial or antimicrobial: no test such as ISO 22196 is on file.
Food contact
Tested by TÜV Rheinland in 2016, with metal release tested by the National Institute of Public Health in Poland:
- Sensory test (odour and taste): pass, to LFGB §31 and Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.
- Migration of acrylonitrile, formaldehyde, metals, primary aromatic amines, acrylic and methacrylic acid, and PAH: below the limits of Regulation (EU) 10/2011.
- Colour migration of pigments: pass (BfR recommendation IX).
- Lead and cadmium release: lead < 0.1 mg/dm² (limit 0.8), cadmium < 0.01 mg/dm² (limit 0.07). NIZP-PZH report 038/106/16/LHŻ/D, 2016.
A PZH hygiene certificate (H-HŻ-6071-179/16/D) covered solid surface kitchen sinks and worktops for kitchens and food-industry premises from 2016. It expired on 3 August 2019 and is not presented as current. The test results above remain on file.

Limits: where not to use it
- Not for floors. TÜV Rheinland measured Akrilika at 4.9° under DIN 51130 (report 21245130_001), which gives no R slip-resistance class. Do not specify it for floors, steps, shower floors or decks.
- Not for outdoor use. The manufacturer’s warranty is void for outdoor installation and for unheated rooms.
- No acetone, no abrasive cleaners. Acetone scored 3 in chemical tests. Do not pour water above 115 °C, and run cold water when pouring boiling water into a sink. Use a trivet under hot pans.
- Colour-dependent results. Light fastness and furniture-surface chemical grades were tested on selected colours. For sunlit areas, labs or strong colours, give us the colour code and we send the result for that colour.
- Not a certification mark. “Tested by TÜV Rheinland” is correct. “TÜV certified” is not.
Technical documents available on request
We send the complete reports, the ITB assessment and the data sheets by e-mail for a named project. We do not publish them as downloads, because ITB and the test labs allow their documents to be reproduced only in full, and your file should hold the right edition.
Request technical documents with the project name, the report numbers from this page, the material and the colour codes. For help writing the clause, see specification support.
