Solid surface delivery across Europe starts from one fact: a sheet is 3660 mm long and weighs 60–65 kg. That shapes how it is packed, how it is lifted and where it can be stored. We deliver sheets, cast basins and fabricated components to projects and workshops across Europe. We quote transit time per country, because it depends on the destination and on what is being shipped.
How sheets are packed
- Sheets ship flat on pallets of 25 or 27 sheets.
- A loaded pallet weighs no more than 2 t. A typical pallet is around 1,600 kg.
- From the factory, sheets travel in 20-ft containers before the final delivery to you.
Packing for cast basins and fabricated components is agreed with the order, based on their size and shape.
What to prepare on site
Unloading. Use a forklift with forks at least 3,500 mm long. Shorter forks leave the ends of the 3.6 m sheets unsupported. If the site cannot take a truck and forklift, tell us before the quote.
Access. Confirm the truck can reach the unloading point, and give us any time windows, height limits or booking system for the site.
Storage. Store sheets flat on racks. Keep rack beam deflection under 2 cm, or the sheets will bow. Store under cover, and keep sheets indoors until installation: the warranty covers indoor installation in heated rooms only.
Space. For planning a stockholding warehouse, the manufacturer’s guidelines give about 840 m² of warehouse plus 200 m² of yard for a stock of 1,000 sheets across 70 colours.
Fabricated parts and cast basins
Finished components such as vanity tops, counters and troughs arrive ready to fit, so treat them as finished goods on site. Keep them in their packing until the day of installation, store them flat and dry, and protect finished faces from other trades. Check each piece against the delivery note on arrival, because a damaged edge is far easier to deal with before installation than after.
Quartz slabs
AQ Stone and Alfa quartz slabs weigh 230–250 kg each (3050–3200 × 1600 × 20 mm). They need slab handling equipment and A-frames, not sheet racks. Tell us if your order mixes quartz and solid surface.
Solid surface pallet delivery: what we need for the quote
- The delivery address and postcode.
- The unloading equipment on site, and the fork length.
- Any time windows, access limits or phased deliveries.
- For series orders, the call-off dates.
Delivery terms, including who arranges unloading, are stated on the quote. Before a large sheet order, check colours on samples: once a sheet is cut, appearance claims are not accepted.
